Photoshoot in Q8

I’m back and dying to post pics from the fabulous Lookbook we shot in Kuwait this past week!

It was a very busy few days between doing the fitting, getting all the outfits + accessories right, deciding the venue etc. But everything worked out as planned.

We had an awesome team of people working with us from photographer to professional makeup artist and everyone else who contributed in making the shoot a total success!

Of course I can’t reveal any photos with the actual looks cause the Lookbook is yet to be finished and published, but I will post snaps from behind-the-scenes, the team in action and the actual venue.

Hope you enjoy these and don’t forget to check back soon to see the final product!

postcard from Kuwait

Hello from Kuwait!

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun yesterday was. Well, ever since I got here has been loads of fun, really. Catching up with old college friends, feasting on delicious Middle Eastern food, wandering the aisles of random Kuwaiti supermarkets, meeting great new people and of course, working on the Lookbook.

As I anticipated on my last post, I’m currently in Kuwait to shoot the ClosetCandy Fall/Winter Lookbook. We spent all of Sunday shooting and I’m super anxious to begin posting some of the behind-the-scenes snaps we took throughout the day, which I will be doing very soon, so be sure to stay tuned!!!

autumn denim therapy

So yeah, the ‘torso’ on the upper left hand corner, that would be me.

Nice huh? lol.

Anyways, autumn is here and I luuurv this time of year!

I love the fresh, crisp air outside. I love the fact that I can flaunt all my leather jackets, yes, I have many, I have an addiction. I love the changing leaves and the toasty yellow and red foliage (nothing beats the New England vibrant foliage though).

I love that I can also wear all my denim shirts in my wardrobe -non-stop-…serious addiction there as well.

What I like about denim shirts the most is that they go with E-VERY-THING. Maxi, mini, midi skirts, trousers, shorts, leggings, you name it. But also, a nice denim shirt, buttoned up to the top combined with a statement necklace or a glam accessory makes all the difference. From a scarf or foulard, to a necklace, choker or a gorgeous vintage brooch, it’s the little things that add that extra zhuhz to your outfit.

So I guess the street style photographer that took my pic for Cosmopolitan, liked how I simply grabbed a vintage silk foulard (previously mentioned here), and made a Slip knot to give it that ‘tie’ look. I like to think of it more like a girl-scout look. Anyways, here are some other ways I’ve spiced up my denim shirts…

the oversized bead necklace and the bib necklace

So, any other little something extra you like to add to your outfits? What are you, the scarf type or necklace type?

Newsflash!  I’m heading to Kuwait shortly to shoot CLOSETCANDY’s Fall/Winter Lookbook! So stay tuned cause I’ll be updating you from there with pics and sneak previews of the outfits! Don’t miss it!

Wish me luck!

I want her but I don’t want her

Check it out! My friend Zahed Sultan from Kuwait recently scored this track on Hotel Costes 15 Compilation by Stephane Pompougnac.

Can it get any better than this?! Major chapeau to you my friend!

This song is plain fierce. I love it how it’s a cultural mix between modern electronic beats and authentic Arabic sounds and voices.

You can listen and buy more from Zahed’s album Hi Fear Lo Love here.

Keep the ball rolling babe, we want to see more from you!
