you are my sunshine

This was my Saturday afternoon attire to go in search of some baptism shoes for my 6-month-old nephew- Thomas (aka TommyBoy).

I knew I would have had to do a lot of walking and store-hopping cause as you can imagine, I’m no baby shoe expert.

As much as I would have loved wearing big, chunky heels or clogs with my freshly-squeezed maxi skirt, I opted for some comfy sneakers, which you can probably remember from my post here…which reminds me, last night I was diligently working on studding up a t-shirt with some fierce spikes, you’ll see the results soon! I know I’m spike-obsessed lately, but it’s just so much fun!

Did I find the right shoes for my baby nephew, you wonder? uhmm, not yet.

My maxi skirt is from American Apparel, my boyfriend blazer is Elizabeth&James, the pocket tee (a present from ClosetCandy) is from Kain Label, necklace is from India, sneakers are ASH and sunglasses are my bf’s Rayban aviators.

The ultimate summer fashion accessory…

So I thought I had seen it all here in Milan-the young teenager walking her little, black piggy along the streets of Porta Romana had been by far the gold medalist of all absurdities, until this man and his extravagant pet rooster came along.

I must admit there’s a strange coolness to this funny ensemble. The black hoodie, the baggy jeans, the beanie hat à la David Beckham, the suave hand-in-pockets posture, the quirky smile…this guy definitely knows his shit. That’s it, I’m a fan!

animal instinct

Current/Elliott’s upcoming Fall/Winter denim collection will be anything but dull.

Bold animal prints are roaring back into the fashion scene, from leopard and crocodile to sleeky python, the wild animal kingdom is set to hit the stores (again) this coming Fall.

I think animal prints are a must-have in any women’s wardrobe. It’s so sensuous and sassy, however, it needs to be done right to avoid looking like a trashy femme fatale.

After seeing Current/Elliott’s Fall jean collection at the showroom here in Milan, I’ve been lusting over it nonstop ever since. Total ob-session!

What I like about the jeans is that the print is subtle enough to not scream ‘look at me I’m fierce, raaarrrrr’ instead the wishy-washy effect gives you a rather cool, relaxed and nonchalant look that when paired up with a simple, white pocket tee and a biker, is just spot-on!

Girls, it’s never too early to study your prey and start warming up for a great hunting season!

So what’s your all time favorite animal print?

perforated

This is me experimenting with the Hipstamatic iPhone app after screwing some spikes into my cobalt blue sneakers.

It comes with a whole bunch of different lenses and film that give each photo a really cool, retro-look effect. You can even order the prints to be delivered at your door (that is, if you live in the US).

I know I sound like an advertorial, truth is, I’m addicted, I’ve been using it quite a lot lately so expect more of these posts!

On a different note, how do you feel about perforated shoes? I looove, especially when you can see your foot skin peeking through the holes…I find it utterly sexy.

ps -it’s still winter in Milan so I can’t pull-off a nude foot just yet, hence the not-so-sexy ankle socks.

This one was taken using the Kaimal Mark II lens and Ina’s 1969 film with standard flash

This print was taken with the John S lens and Blanko film using the Cherry Shine flash
