Sicilian Spice

Written by manu on . Posted in Sicily, travel book

Destination: Aeolian Islands, Sicily (aka Lipari Islands)

Hotel: Capofaro Malvasia & Resort (Salina)

Crowd: fashionistas, Brit couples, well-off young, stylish Italian couples

Salina Lighthouse

Capofaro is a 5-star boutique hotel located in the Aeolian Island of Salina. It’s home to 13 guest rooms and 5 suites in the form of whitewashed bungalows that spread all across the vineyard-covered terrain.

The main attraction of the resort is a white-decked pool area with comfy chaise longue perfect for spending long, paradisiac afternoons in the sun accompanied by a freshly squeezed Tarocco orange juice.

Another aspect that makes this place so special is that it is owned by one of Italy’s top wine producers known for the sweet Malvasia wine, called Tasca d’Almerita, available at their Gift Shop.

In short, this place is a MUST! Enjot the pics!

L’Oulivie where France meets Asia

Written by manu on . Posted in Côte d'Azur, travel book

Where: L’Oulivié

Located in the heart of the old town, Le Suquet.

I would describe it as provençal meets Asian fusion cuisine. The way in which they mix fresh, local products and give it that subtle Asian touch is indescribable.

What to order-

My favorite dish- Assortiment Tempura. Simply mouth-watering.

For dessert- Nems au chocolate (crunchy chocolate spring rolls). Out of this world.

If you’re around this summer, please go.

Here are the details:

Oh! La Côte d’Azur…

I just love the South of France. Me and the South of France (Cannes in particular) have a thing going on :) I just never seem to want to go back whenever I’m there. So my solution? I decided to enroll in school. I will be taking intermediate French from July to August at the College International de Cannes, can’t wait!

In the meantime, here are some photos from Antibes, St. Tropez and surroundings while I wait for classes to begin. Enjoy! kiss!

Can this be any more moviesque? Feels like it’s in slow-motion…

My favorite and most comfortable beach shoes! Advice: get all colors- the brighter the better! The only original espadrilles shop is in Le Suquet, Cannes’ old town, all the rest are Made in China.
